Meet Sarah

Meet Sarah

Sarah was arrested in September of 2016 for the last time. Growing up with parents that drank and smoked weed, the life of the hustle was second nature for Sarah. At an early age Sarah started stealing weed and was smoking herself.  Always thinking to work smarter, not harder, Sarah quickly learned that the best price and most efficient way to get the drugs was through dealing them herself. The hustle was as addictive as the dope. Sarah would end up in jail several times before hitting rock bottom and desperate to stop using. After six months in jail, Sarah had nowhere to go. Being savvy, she found someone to stay with and was determined to stay clean while everyone around her was using. For ten days she called Healing House over and over and Momma Judi told her to sit tight. She was so relieved when Momma Judi finally called her and told her to “come on home baby.”

For the first time in her life, Sarah had a family to get her through the tough times that would follow. The moms, Bobbi Jo and Momma Judi, were there for her and she was
surrounded by supportive friends that understood what it was like to want to smoke at the end of a bad day and applauded when you got your license back for the first time in ten years.
Now Sarah has a career helping others in recovery! Once with only a GED she is now credentialed and licensed and so grateful to be in a position to help others. “I know that I don’t want to stop helping people like me because I know what it’s like to be alone.” A beacon to others in recovery, we are so proud of you Sarah!
